These 5 Fall Colors > Everything Else
Wearable color trends for Fall that you won't hate next season
Listen, no one’s not trusting Vogue for style advice, but every time new seasonal color forecasts roll around, there’s always a layer of detachment from how we actually get dressed day to day.
Powder pink, slime green + electric aubergine (via Vogue) may be gorgeous on the runway (subjective tbh), but there is zero practicality to any of those colors as they relate to my wardrobe.
For the sake of wearability, here are the 5 trending Fall colors I can’t wait to bring into my wardrobe this season —
Burgundy, cherry red, wine — honestly, it’s all [basically] the same with tiny tweaks here and there. For me personally, I know that a more prominent piece like a blazer or a pant just won’t hold up in my closet, so I’m leaning towards cherry red as more of an accent color.
I love this color paired with a darker denim, all shades of grey and especially black as we get deeper into Fall.
Have my eye on — This scoopneck sweater / $30 rib knit / cuffed crew sweater / bow detail kitten heels / Bottega-inspired burgundy clutch / Adanola’s dark cherry activewear line
Although camel will always be a classic Fall tone, with chocolate brown in the spotlight, lighter shades of camel feel a little dated (for now). Bronze leans richer and more elevated, and with suede having such a moment this season, you’ll be seeing this shade everywhere.
I love this color paired with creamy ecrus, neutrals, chocolate brown and even grey.
Have my eye on — This napped jacket / oversized suede blazer / drawstring shoulder bag / Puma Speedcats / Staud ankle boots
I love green, but darker army greens have always felt underwhelming for me. Olive lends to a dustier dark green, which I personally love (the viral Zara suede bomber is a great example of this).
Olive green pairs beautifully with crisp whites, taupe, chocolate brown, and if you find the right shade, it also works really nicely with black.
Have my eye on — These barrel cargo pants / WAT waxed jacket (on the waitlist!) / more cargo pants / oversized trench (own in more colors and love, size down 1)
Out of all colors, I’ve always been drawn to blue and this season we’ll see everything from classic navy to baby blue and one of Pantone’s trending Fall shades, Crown Blue. There’s so much you can do with this color range whether you’re accessorizing or keeping it simple and bringing in blue hues through denim.
I love blues paired with browns, greys and creamy whites.
Have my eye on — This beautiful cardigan (also love this budget-friendly find) / Navy Adidas Handball Spezials (on the waitlist!) / Striped long sleeve (have in beige color and love, size down) / crewneck sweater
Chocolate brown needs no introduction if you’ve been around here for a minute. There’s nothing groundbreaking about brown for Fall, but I personally fell back in love with this color last season and haven’t looked back. I’ve found so many ways to style chocolate brown, be it through bags, shoes, jackets, etc. I think we may be due for another chocolate brown outfits series this season!
I love the classic color pairings like brown and beige, taupe, ecru — but on the flip side, charcoal and black also work great too.
Have my eye on — This cropped buttery jacket / cashmere-blend sweater / plaid tailored vest / suede jacket / toe-cuff boots / classic blazer
